Recently, Mr. Victor, Asia-Pacific General Manager of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), visited our association and was warmly received by President Qi Yilong.ApexBrasil is a Brazilian federal government agency responsible for promoting Brazilian exports and attracting foreign direct investment. In 2024, the agency supported over 20,000 Brazilian companies, accounting for 42% of Brazil’s total exports, with an export value of US$141.5 billion.
The two parties held in-depth discussions on promoting high-quality Brazilian food exports to China, deepening Sino-Brazilian food import trade cooperation, and promoting the "BUY BRAZIL" platform.

Secretary-General Tan first introduced the development background, core operations, and advantages of the Guangdong (China) Imported Food Association (GDIFA) in connecting domestic and international food trade resources. President Qi emphasized that the association is committed to helping member companies expand global high-quality supply chains. Brazil, as a major agricultural country and food exporter, is also one of China’s key trade partners, with a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation in agriculture and other fields.
Mr. Victor expressed high recognition of the association’s work, noting the strong alignment in promoting Sino-Brazilian food trade and the need to enhance multi-faceted cooperation. He elaborated on Brazil’s current export strategy:
Due to U.S. tariffs on Brazilian products, Brazil is actively seeking to expand its market share in China as an alternative to the U.S.
Mr. Victor introduced ApexBrasil’s official free B2B platform, "BUY BRAZIL", and hopes to promote it through the association to help Chinese importers easily connect with Brazilian suppliers.

Mr. Victor also mentioned plans to introduce the Brazilian Beef Exporters Association (ABIEC) to the association to expand beef trade cooperation. He highlighted the rapid growth of Brazilian coffee bean exports as a promising category. Brazil’s natural advantages in agriculture make it a key player in the global food supply chain, renowned for coffee, beef, and other premium products.

Mr. Victor expressed ApexBrasil’s willingness to collaborate closely with the association to promote the platform and facilitate business matchmaking, helping more high-quality Brazilian foods enter the Chinese market.
President Qi responded by proposing specialized promotion events, such as Brazilian food showcases and supply-demand matchmaking sessions, focusing on coffee, beef, and other key products.
Additionally, Mr. Victor revealed that ApexBrasil plans to establish an office in Guangzhou to strengthen ties with the Chinese market and deepen cooperation. He looks forward to further collaboration with the Guangdong Imported Food Association to unlock the full potential of Sino-Brazilian food trade for mutual benefit.
