Russian Agricultural Export Development Center: Russia's Crab Exports to China Up 16% in First Three Months of This Year

Russia Satellite News Agency, Moscow, April 22 — According to preliminary statistics provided by the Agricultural Export Development Center under Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture to the satellite news agency, in the first quarter of 2025, Russia’s crab exports to China increased by 16% in volume, reaching approximately 8,500 tons, and grew by 11% in value, amounting to around US$265 million.


It was noted that in the first three months of 2025, China ranked first among Russia’s crab import countries.

Data shows that in the first quarter of 2025, Russia’s total crab exports reached about 17,000 tons, up 23% year-on-year, while export value rose by 26%, surpassing US$440 million.


On March 18, the Russian Agricultural Export Center told the satellite news agency that, according to preliminary figures, Russia’s agricultural exports to China in 2024 exceeded 8.3 million tons, with a total value of approximately US$7.4 billion. Among Russia’s agricultural exports to China, the largest category by volume was rapeseed oil (13%), followed by barley (10%), then sunflower oil and peas (8% each), and soybeans (7%). China became the main importer of Russian agricultural products in 2024 and has remained in this position for two consecutive years.
