In recent years, domestic attention to healthy eating has been steadily increasing. Compared with traditional cooking oils, people are turning their eyes to extra virgin olive oil and its health benefits. To help more Chinese people understand and appreciate the high quality of EU agricultural products, the project aims to raise awareness of European PDO and PGI olive oil quality certifications, enhance the market competitiveness and consumption of EU-produced olive oil, improve its image and knowledge level in China, and increase its market share.

The organizers of ECCECHINA also noted that the promotion plan will encompass various formats, including social media interaction, study tours to Europe, professional seminars, and promotional activities in Chinese restaurants and retail outlets. These initiatives will actively showcase the cultural appeal of European extra virgin olive oil to Chinese consumers, while offering Chinese distributors more choices of EU products.
